Selectmen’s Corner-1st Quarter 2017
The following major project(s) are completed or ongoing as we enter the first quarter of the year.

  1. The Selectmen’s meeting, due to a lack of interest for the extended hours, will revert to the old schedule (Every Tuesday 4 to 6pm) effective January 3, 2017. Workshops will continue to be held every Tuesday from 1 to 4pm. (Remember meetings can be arranged at a time convenient to everybody by calling Debbie (207) 625-4558 ahead of time. (Five Days).
  2. Due to weather and scheduling conflicts the replacing of the south side of the roof on the Town Hall will be delayed. (Money has been approved by the Town.)
  3. The solar energy project, approved by the voters at the last Annual Town Meeting, is proceeding on schedule.
  4. Robinson Mill – Town will be contacting potential developers during the next few months to assist in selling/developing the Mill complex.
  5. Selectwoman Brendt is developing a comprehensive plan to encompass policy and pay procedures for the Town.

Selectmen’s Corner-First Quarter 2016
 The following major project(s) are completed or ongoing as we enter the first quarter of the year:
     Time Warner Cable’s contract (TV2) has been has been approved by the five towns covered for a 10 year period. Ron Silvia, Selectman from Porter, chaired this five plus year process, and deserves a great deal of credit. A copy of the contract will be available at the Parsonsfield Town Hall when the contract is finalized by Time Warner.
    The Parsonsfield Selectmen are pleased to announce that West End Camp, a Parsonsfield boys’ camp for over a hundred years, is making available to Parsonsfield boys (ages 8 to 15) a limited number of camp scholarships for the upcoming camp year. These scholarships would be for a two to eight week period, and hopefully continue for future years. For further information please call the appropriate Guidance Counselor for your son at MSAD#55.     Use of Robinson Mill with regard to building use and septic availability.

    Sale of Milliken Building – Has been sold.
    Formulating Rescue Contract – Rescue contract with four towns is being
    finalized. Town approval is expected by the Annual Town Meeting in September.
    Developing new TWC (Time Warner Cable) contract – Cable contract with
    local communities has expired. TWC had merged into a subsidiary called “Charter”. Towns (4) have 120 days to review information.

    Sale of Milliken Building – Buyer has made an offer on the property. If appropriate deed can be issued, sale should be complete in April 2015.
    Formulating Rescue Contract – Rescue contract with four towns is being finalized. Town approval is expected by the Annual Town Meeting in September.
    Developing new TWC (Time Warner Cable) contract – Cable contract with local communities has expired. New contract is being developed. Parsonsfield has (+ -) 225 subscribers.
